Manubai Nagamani, M.D. Medical Director
Dr. NAGAMANI is board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has been treating patients as a specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for more than 25 years. Dr. Nagamani uses the latest methods in the treatment of infertility, including ovulation induction with gonadotropin injections, intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization (IVF), ICSI and Frozen embryo transfer, donor egg, donor sperm and microscopic tubal reanastomosis. She provides individualized personal care to her patients and performs all the ultrasounds, intrauterine inseminations and all the other procedures herself. She also treats patients with other reproductive endocrine problems including polycystic ovary syndrome, recurrent abortions and myomectomy for fibroids of uterus.
After completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Medical College of Georgia, she joined the faculty at the University of Texas medical branch (UTMB) at Galveston. Prior to starting this current practice, she was Professor and Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Director of the REI Fellowship Training Program at UTMB for more than 25 years. Dr. Nagamani is board certified both in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as reproductive endocrinology-infertility. Dr. Nagamani has been awarded numerous grants by the National Institute of Health and other sources for her studies on polycystic ovary Syndrome (PCOS). She is internationally recognized as an expert in treatment of infertility in women with PCOS and she has published extensively in this area. She has more 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and has written several book chapters in the area of hyperthecosis which is a severe form of PCOS.
Dr.NAGAMANI is a founding and charter member of Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is also member of numerous professional Societies, including American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for Gynecologic Investigation, Endocrine Society, Androgen Excess Society and the Society for the study of Reproduction among others. As member of National Physicians’ Cooperative of the Oncofertility Consortium, she offers various treatment options for fertility preservation in women undergoing treatments for cancer.
She has received numerous awards for teaching. Her expertise in treatment of infertility has been recognized by patients and by community. In January 2007 while practicing in UTMB, her work with infertile patients was recognized in a Galveston Daily News. In 2008, she was recognized as one of Houston’s Top Doctors by H Texas Magazine. She is also selected and recognized as one of the top Obstetrician and Gynecologist in the area of REI by the Consumer research Council of America.
